10 Things You Didn't Know About Fitness
Doing the same exercises every time you work out, won't help you see results faster. Muscles actually have memory cells allowing them to become better at what you are consistently doing. Try tricking your muscles by changing your workout routine each time.
Whether you should eat before or after your workout depends on your personal health goals. Working out on an empty stomach allows you to burn your fat stores faster. If your goal is weight loss, eat after. If your goal is intense workouts & muscle gain, eat before to fuel your muscles. Regardless of why you are working out, make sure to drink plenty of water throughout your workout.
Being "too tired" is no longer an excuse for not exercising! Exercise releases the "feel good" hormones, endorphins, into your bloodstream. Endorphins make you feel more energized and ready to take on the day.
While most people may not have the time or simply don't feel like getting up, exercising in the morning may be better for your body. Remember those endorphins we just talked about? That's why. The endorphins wake your body up giving you more energy. Working out at night might make it harder for you to fall asleep since your body is "awake."
Listening to music while you exercise improves your workout! Upbeat music can help quicken your pace. Music can also be distracting (in a good way) by making it easier to ignore any discomfort and finish your workout.
Research studies have shown your body produces more antibodies after exercising. Antibodies are responsible for fighting off bacteria and viruses. Even though a few hours
after your workout your body returns to normal, the more you exercise the longer the antibodies stay in your system. In short, exercising regularly means fewer colds.
Many people forget that your heart is a muscle too. Exercising your heart improves how it pumps blood throughout your body. The stronger your heart is, the more blood it pumps and the more blood it pumps, the faster oxygen is released to your cells. The best way to help strengthen your heart is by incorporating aerobic exercises in your workout routines.
Don't expect to see results right away and, most importantly, don't give up! It may take 10-12 weeks for your body to start showing results from your workouts. Set small, more obtainable weekly goals to help you feel accomplished and stay on track.
Just because your workout targets specific areas of your body doesn't mean you will lose weight from those areas. Your body decides where it loses weight. Every person is different. However, working out certain areas can keep those muscles tones and the skin tight making it appear that you are thinner.
